Even the Tour de France gets a day off now and then ...

Saturday, May 19, 2012 - Ataturk Sports Day!

Hello!

We are being REALLY lazy, and taking the day off, but we wanted to let everyone know so no one would think we were totally lost in this HUGE city (again)! Robert had some Caltech work come in this morning, and as the only thing we really wanted to see in this very large city was the Museum, which we covered thoroughly yesterday, we've decided to play hooky! So...breakfast on the rooftop terrace of our lovely hotel; lunch ditto -- excellent buffet, although to be honest, I have absolutely NO idea what most of the desserts were...Robert got work done; I've been reading and napping...my kind of day!

Tomorrow morning we're out of town and heading back west, through Gordion (as in the knot!); hoping the traffic will be minimal allowing for an easy exit to the countryside!

R did take a couple of pictures from the terrace -- seemed a shame to waste that view! The really BIG plain building is Mustafa Kemel Ataturk's mausoleum; he is the father of modern Turkey, circa 1920.

More tomorrow; the bloggers will be back in force!
Lots of love!
