We started with a little "bite" of shrimp as our "amuse bouche", then moved on to our first course. R got the salad -- lettuce, tomato, walnuts and "fresh" cheese in a very light balsamic vinaigrette. I had the cold tomato soup with croutons -- TERRIFIC!
At this point, there were sudden VERY loud noises -- ran out to the street, and WOW! an incredible fireworks display right over the train station! It was terrific! And obviously either 1) because it's Tuesday, or 2) for us! I prefer the second alternative...
Then came our main courses. R had mushroom ravioli in a gouda cheese sauce. I had their chicken with fried potatoes, in a carrot and onion sauce -- fabulous!
And finally, for dessert, R had the fruit plate and I had something translated as: "fried milk" with raspberry jam. Just couldn't pass that up! And it was delicious, although R can't quite figure out how it was done...all washed down with a lovely dry white wine!
Off to bed...very full!
